With the state accountability and testing changing and the adoption of new standards for 2020-2021, many schools are left hoping for the best, but potentially expecting the worst regarding student performance on these tests. As the Proficiency Measures have shifted toward the K-Prep test for 10th graders, which creates minimal motivation for performance unlike the use of college admissions tests like the ACT, schools must find a way to keep students motivated to do well and equip them in the content and skills necessary for proficiency.
