Okay, so it's junior year and you want to know how to go about attacking the ACT this year. I'm going to give you some simple steps to ensure you make the most of this school year and beat the ACT.

TLDR: Take a practice ACT test EARLY in Junior year Imbed ACT content in your classroom teaching Offer students some sort of skill or strategy focused training Video Transcript: You're in school leadership, and you want to go from seeing the ACT as a challenge and liability to having a plan that sets your students up for success. In this video, I'm going to show you three things that many schools do to be successful on the ACT. I don't care if you are an urban school, rural, suburban, public, or private. If you do these things you will see more students hitting benchmarks, getting into college, and getting scholarships with their ACT test scores.

TLDR: Hitting benchmark on the ACT is possible by changing the way you view the test! You have to view the test by the number of questions you need correct to hit benchmark. (ex. English you only need to get 37 questions right out of 75). Video Transcript: If you're in administration or you're a classroom teacher, a big problem happening is that what do you do with students whenever they're not hitting benchmark on their ACT? Well, what I want to share with you today, we've got a tool we use in the classroom here at TorchPrep to help students hit benchmark on the ACT. So I'll share it with you real quick. It's a practical tool that you can use in the classroom with your students so they can get closer to hitting benchmark on this test. And what we call this, it's simply Redefining the Win.

TLDR: Your problem is not content, it is . . . Timing - learn how to read for the ACT test, not simply read & PACE YOURSELF! Learn from your mistakes Buy your Previously taken national test and study the answers you got wrong Repeat the Test Video Transcript: Based off your GPA, your ACT score isn't meeting your expectations. What gives? Here at TorchPrep, we see that all the time. I'm going to show you a few steps to help you understand how to get your ACT score where you want it to be, based off your high GPA.

TLDR: Split the test up into 4 separate sections (Practice ACT) 8 min 45 seconds each section Pick a letter (A-F) at the end of time & bubble all the way down Take a Break Do this 4 total times! What I want to do today is share with you a tool we use at TorchPrep that helps students hit benchmark on the reading section of the ACT test, so that by the end of this video you have a practical tool to use in the classroom to help students reach benchmark on the reading ACT.

TLDR: Take a national ACT test! Not just a practice, but a national test. Find a strategy training! Private Test Prep or Group Training Take the national test again! & Again! & Again! Keep taking the test until you get the score you want! Here's How Get Started Early - Take the ACT before the start of your Junior year Allocate time - Find some way to train for the ACT (private test prep, group training, online resources, etc.) Have a unique plan - Every student is different so find the plan that works best to get your best possible score Video Transcript: Most people know that with a good ACT score, you can get a scholarship. But did you know that you don't have to have a stellar, out of this world ACT score to win big money? Even normal ACT scores can be attached to winning money for college. In this video, I'm going to give you some specifics about how much money is allocated for every ACT score. And at the end, I'm going to give you some tips to reaching your peak score because, I promise you, once you see the opportunities that are out there, you're going to be really motivated to get the highest ACT score you can.

TLDR: Reduce the Stress - Parents and Students both are feeling the pressure of the ACT. Tell them the NEW ACT Story - Parents took the ACT 20 years ago when you simply took the test once. They are not aware that the ACT has changed and requires more attention now when it comes to college applications. Help them Understand their Score - Show them the College and Career Readiness Benchmarks, Local college's average ACT scores, scholarship scores, etc. Give them a Plan - Don't give them 10+ options to prepare for the ACT, give them something specific that your school will do to help.
